Step 2 - Make the mold to drain silicone
Step 4 – Make a holder for the back cover
1 standard case for CD (NOT slim case).
1 glue gun for apply silicone.
1 tube of silicone.
A piece of paper, equal or greater than 6cm x 1cm.
1 scissor.
1 pencil.
1 rule to measure.
Glue for paper.
* If you want to include a back cover first view the annexed step 1A.
With a pencil mark the center of the circle hole of the plastic where the CD assemble, do over the plastic case.
Remove the plastic where the CD assemble.
Use the CD to draw a circle over the plastic case, using the same center the previous mark.
See that the CD rests exactly over the small plastic guides in superior and lower part in the center of the case.

Step 2 - Make the mold to drain silicone
Cut a piece of paper 5.5cm x 7mm (the maximum size of the case is 8mm).
You can adjust the length of 5.5cm like you want.
Put a mark in this piece of paper at length 4.4cm.
If you want the CDs to fit tightly in the support, use a length of 4.5-4.6cm (the diameter of the central hole of the CD is 4.7cm)
Put glue in the minor area of the piece of paper and paste to form a cilinder.
Put the cilinder of paper in the circle drawn over the plastic case.
Hold with one hand and full it with silicone (use the glue gun).
When fill with silicone, you can put the CD case over a dampened rag (because the case is warmed up considerably).
Be kind to big bubbles of air that can form, and fill the top center little more than the borders (because the center tends to undir itself).
Wait to cool and harden the silicone applied (during this process, with your hands you can fit it so that it is left but round the possible thing).
Step 4 – Make a holder for the back cover
Cut the plastic where the CD assemble (see next picture).
|
|
Now assemble the case and store on it 4 CD-ROMs (you can store 5 CD-ROMs, but see that the CD Case does not close well).
|
|
Enjoy your new CD case.
Step 1A
* This step is exactly like step 1 but with the back cover on the CD case.
Put the back cover to the CD case.
With a pencil mark the center of the circle hole of the plastic where the CD assemble, do over the back cover.
Quit the plastic where the CD assemble.
Use the CD to draw a circle over the back cover, using like center the previous mark.
Cut the circle drawn, and make a small cutes (2-3mm) in form of cross around the circle.
